It’s time to get out the spades. On 6 March, a team of five eager volunteers from Kenny Waste Management will be helping the Woodland Trust plant trees in the Trust’s Smithills Estate near Bolton.

Each year at Kenny Waste Management, we choose one or two local charities to support. This year we’re getting behind two fantastic Manchester-based organisations: The Christie charity and Tackle4MCR.

Christmas is almost here, and for most of us, it’s a time to relax and enjoy ourselves. However, for some families, Christmas can be the most stressful and difficult time of the year – and at Kenny Waste Management, we made it our mission this season to support some of these struggling families.

Last month, Kenny Waste Management launched Driving Change, our social enterprise programme. We’ve actually been running the scheme since late 2017; however, now we’re launching Driving Change as a stand-alone social enterprise.

We’re delighted to announce an exciting new partnership between Kenny Waste Management and the Woodland Trust. Our Technical Director and Driving Change leader, Paul Eagleton, met with Chris Waterfield from the Woodland Trust earlier this month. They’ve come up with partnership plans which benefit the charity and a local community – while offsetting carbon emissions.

We’ve got a new venture at Kenny Waste Management: we’ve started to make our own skips! Instead of buying them from a supplier, we’re now manufacturing super-robust, Kenny-branded skips ourselves.

When Redrow Homes asked for our help for a community project they were supporting, we were only to pleased to get involved.

Everyone deserves a chance to succeed – and that’s why last year, Kenny Waste Management launched its social enterprise programme, Driving Change.
