On Sunday, one of the local projects close to our hearts will get the chance to showcase its fantastic work on national television. BBC1’s Countryfile visited the Create For Nature project in Cheshire, which Kenny Waste Management has been supporting. We wrote about Create for Nature’s innovative approach to sustainable fundraising in our blog last month. It’s a truly original way of diverting wood waste from landfill! Sam Salisbury from Cheshire Wildlife Trust came up with a creative way to raise money: making and selling bespoke wooden furniture made from waste products. The Trust converted an old cattle shed in Bickley Hall Farm, and there was soon a team of volunteer furniture makers in place. They create the most beautiful, unique furniture which is sold through Etsy.
